PIIPA - Bio: Tina Kuklenski
Biographical Information - Tina Kuklenski, Interim CEO
Tina Kuklenski brings to Public Interest Intellectual Property Advocates years of working with international scientists and a unique understanding of the impact intellectual property matters have on developing countries. She has spent her career at the interfaces of different cultures, evolving technologies and business practices, bridging scientific institutions in developed and developing countries, and reaching out to stakeholders.

A seasoned manager, Tina was most recently Director of Administration for the International Center of Insect Physiology and Ecology in Nairobi, Kenya. She oversaw all of ICIPE's operations in three countries and assisted with the overall restructuring of the organization. Tina also organized the funding and logistics for a multi-million dollar renovation of the main campus.

Prior to Kenya, Tina held several senior manager positions specializing in administration, finance and human resources in the corporate sector in Hawaii. Tina’s scientific experience began at the Bishop Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii where she held several managerial positions. There she had extensive experience in training and capacity building in biodiversity and conservation in the Pacific and Asia. Throughout her career, Tina has designed and conducted training programs in all areas of management and human resources, including three years as a part-time instructor at Hawaii Pacific University, where she prepared human resource professionals for national certification examinations.

Tina earned an M.A. degree in Human Resource Management from Hawaii Pacific University and a B.S. degree in Personnel Administration from the University of Kansas. She is also nationally certified by the Society of Human Resource Management as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
